Laurence Scialom

Professor of Economics at the University Nanterre La Défense (Paris)

Laurence Scialom is a french professor and researcher in the fields of micro and macro-prudential regulation, central banking and, more generally, sustainable and responsible finance. She is an individual member of Finance Watch.

After multi-disciplinary studies (BA in Contemporary History at Jussieu 1984, diploma of the Institute of Political Studies of Paris 1986 and a PhD in Economics in 1991, Laurence Scialom was then a professor at the University of Lille 2 from 2000 to 2003 and currently at the University of Paris 10 Nanterre,  where she is actively engaged with EconomiX with a  specific research focus on micro and macro-prudential regulation, central banking and, more generally, sustainable and responsible finance. She was nominated for the prize of the best young economist of France in 2000 and she is currently co-head of the M2 Banks Money Markets at the University of Paris West, and co-head of the M2 Institutions Economy and Society (co-authored with the EHESS). In addition to the above, Laurence Scialom is responsible for the “financial regulation” pole of the Terra Nova Think Tank, is a member of the Scientific Council of the ACPR and a member of the Advisory Committee Savers of the AMF.
