Markus Schulte is currently Principal Adviser for the ‘Multiannual Financial Framework, InvestEU and the European Green Deal’ in DG ECFIN.
Mr. Schulte has been joining the European Commission in 2005: After working in the Directorate-General for Enterprise and Industry and the Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs, he was a member of the Cabinet of EU Commissioner Günther H. Oettinger since 2013. Between 1999 and 2005 he worked with the International Monetary Fund in Washington. He received his doctorate in Economics in 1996 from the London School of Economics. Previously, he had graduated from the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and the European College in Bruges with degrees in History, Political Science and European Studies.
