Olivier is in charge of retail financial services and financial inclusion questions at Finance Watch.

Financial industry should guarantee a fair, simple and affordable access to a set of basic financial services (transactions, credit, saving and insurances) which are necessary for a full social inclusion for every Citizen. When market competition is not efficient enough to guarantee such universal access, regulator should act to compensate this market Failure so to avoid social and societal exclusion

After 8 years of work at Credal a Financial cooperative as credit adviser, I implemented a pilot project of the first personal micro-credit in Belgium. Then, I led The Observatoire du Crédit et de l’Endettement, specialised in consumer credit issues and over-indebtedness. From 2007 to 2018, I work part time as researcher at Financité on Financial inclusion issues and as director of the European Financial Inclusion Network (EFIN). I joined Finance Watch in June 2018 to reinforce the Retail and Financial inclusion pole and have organised the merge of EFIN network into Finance-Watch.
