Stephanie Schmelz has over 20 years of insurance experience in both the private and public sectors. Currently, she serves as the Deputy Director of the Federal Insurance Office (FIO) in the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Before joining FIO, Stephanie served in the Office of General Counsel at the D.C. Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking.
She also spent over a dozen years in private practice in Washington, D.C., focused on insurance coverage matters. Stephanie has a B.A. from Haverford College and a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.
