Job description – Press (Communications) Intern at Finance Watch

Finance Watch is looking for an intern to support our press officer in media mapping and monitoring. This is a paid internship in Brussels for a duration of 3 months. The start date is flexible.

Finance Watch is an independently funded public interest association dedicated to making finance work for the good of society and the planet. Its mission is to strengthen the voice of society in the reform of financial regulation by conducting advocacy and presenting public interest arguments to lawmakers and the public. Finance Watch’s members include consumer groups, housing associations, trade unions, NGOs, financial experts, academics and other civil society groups that collectively represent a large number of European citizens.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in press relations (and communications more broadly) at a dynamic Brussels-based NGO advocating for citizens in EU policy making. The press intern will report to the press officer and work closely with the whole communications & networks team at Finance Watch.

This internship would suit someone studying communications, journalism or public relations. A background in finance is not required, but willingness to learn about financial regulation is a must. The ideal candidate would be proficient in English (C1/C2 level), as well as one other EU language (Spanish or Italian would be a plus).
