Consultation response

On 6 October 2020, Finance Watch published its response to the European Commission’s consultation on its New Consumer Agenda.

The consultation covers four consumer policy initiatives that the European Commission intends to adopt in 2020 and 2021. These initiatives are:

  1. a Commission Communication on a new European Consumer Agenda;
  2. a legislative proposal on empowering consumers in the green transition;
  3. a legislative proposal on a review of the Directive on consumer credit agreements for consumers (2008/48/EC);
  4. a legislative proposal on a review of the General Product Safety Directive (2001/95/EC).
